First prize recipient while recently on show and sale as a one-off item at the Utah Tech Sears 37th Invitational Art Show and Sale.

Oral traditionalist and artist, Hoksila Lakota, was inspired to carve WAMBLI – “The Messenger” from wood with variegated coloring that leant itself to the natural patterns in an eagles wings.  Wambli represents taking the higher perspective and is the traditional carrier of messages to the heavens and beyond.

Through this piece, Hoksila seeks to share inspiration and hope, that there is a carrier of our prayers and messages that ensure with faith and belief, they reach back to source.
